Cogswell’s Grant 

The trail features over 2 miles of marked trails winding through forests, meadows, and the Essex River marsh. Scenic routes include a marsh overlook and the historic Oliver Wood House along the loops.


Allyn Cox Reservation

This property offers peaceful meadow trails through coastal woodlands, open fields, and salt marshes filled with birdlife. Extend your hike on the connecting Essex Coastal Trail, which provides more scenic views.


Stavros Reservation

Owned by Essex County Greenbelt, which has nearly 3 miles of trails traversing forests, fields, and salt marshes. Look out for the scenic sights over Crane Beach, Hog Island, and Crane Estate along the way.


Warren Weld Woodland

A hidden gem consists of 106 acres of trails and woodlands through pine and oak forests. It's an excellent option for a quiet, restorative nature walk away from the crowds. Be sure to look out for the stone walls and rock outcroppings throughout.
