Plan Your Fall Adventure in Essex, MA


It’s hard to believe but Fall is just around the corner! Make the most of it by planning your Fall adventure schedule. When you do, remember Essex! Essex is the place to be! So here are five things to do in Essex this Fall! 1. Stop by Blue Moon Farm for fresh produce, flowers and herbs located right in Essex. Peruse the greenhouses and pick out your fresh and delicious ingredients for a yummy fall dinner or some fresh cut, seasonal flowers for your table!


2. Essex is a history lover’s paradise! Make your way through the many historical sights this Fall. Start with Cogswell's Grant, a 165-acre property with stunning views of the Essex River. The Estate is filled with beautiful American folk art pieces, painted furniture, portraits, and more! Make sure to check out their event calendar for upcoming fall fun!


3. Hit the trail for some outdoor activity! Head over and hike the Agassiz Rock Trail. The loop trail is under a mile and features beautiful wildflowers and nature along the way. The Agassiz rock is the remaining part of the bedrock that was set there by a glacier! (Pro tip: plan this hike when the foliage is at its peak!)

4. What's fall without apple picking? Russel Orchards, located just outside of Essex in Ipswich! This 120-acre family-owned farm has pick your own apples starting in September! Spend the day and enjoy the many other fun activities! Visit with the farm animals, taste the wine and treat yourself at the bakery!


5. Last but certainly not least, be sure to check out our Fall Foliage Cider & Donut Cruises! Take a cruise up close to Hog/Choate Island to view the area's brilliant hues of fall foliage and also see the dark spruce forest.
